I remember Chuck when I was City Clerk of Luthersville and he was a deputy for Meriwether County. He always had a quick wit and a twinkle in his eye. He always seemed to be full of fun and enjoying life. I'm so very sorry for your loss. We never know what's in store for us in this life, but God gives us the strength to endure things we never thought we could. I haven't seen or spoken to Chuck in many, many years, but I'll always remember him as that cute, fun-loving young man in the deputy uniform. Frank Jeanette Patricia Jan and family Let me start by saying how sad I am of Chuck"s passing. It was a complete shock to me when I heard Chuck had gotten sick. A significant void in our lives has been created due to the passing of Chuck. May we all remember his smile, good nature, sense of humor, and his willingness to help when needed. His charity work through the mentoring of youth certainly enriched the lives of many deserving young men. While his immediate and extended family are rightfully devastated over such a tragic loss, we were truly blessed to have Chuck in our lives. Our deepest sympathies to Jr., Jeanette, Will, Jan and all of our family. We love you and you will be in our prayers. Jim and Deb

I met Chuck years back when he hauled gravel to our farm. He stood out from the ordinary--very personable man. We crossed paths again in 2009 while working at the local Boy Scout Camp. Chuck was there to donate his time and equipment to help his community of friends--very generous indeed. I, along with many others, will miss Chuck. Mr. Frank, Miss Jeanette and Jan, I have really been hurting since I heard news of Chuck's illness and untimely death. I really loved Chuck, remember going up to spend the day just a couple of days after you moved in the little house just up from the St. Marks store. I especially remember when Chuck gave his heart to Jesus at a summer revival and how he was genuinely moved at his coming to Jesus. This carried over into the several summers he and I attended summer camp at Rockridge, his faith in the Lord was strong. The years have taken me away from my beloved hometown, but it was good to see him thru the years at different events at Union. I know this is devastating to all of you, but I want you to know that I am lifting you up in prayer and trusting God's perfect peace to fill all of you and bring strength to you in the days ahead, as well as to his wife and son that I did not have the privilege to know. My heart and thoughts will be with you tomorrow, wish the distance was not so great that I could be there in person. Blessings in Christ, Mark Ladd

I think of Chuck as my own cousin, even though he was really the cousin of my cousins: JC, Susie, Bob, and Chris. I have not spoken to him in years since we've grown up, but I have fond memories of spending time with Chuck, Mike Reynolds, and Bob whenever I visited Greenville as a teenager. Chuck always seemed to have a smile no matter what. It hit me hard to learn that he has been called home so soon. My heart, prayers, and love go out to Jeanette, Frank Jr, Jan and all of Chuck's family and loved ones.

Cindy Riley Hubbard

Chuck was made and the shell thrown away. He was thoughtful of all and had good times with all and i have known him sence the age of 12. He loved life, he loved doing for others, and he loved putting his foot on the peddle of that truck when he was driving it in a parade in Hogansville for his Church and had the youth of the Church on the truck , he would say I am the leader watch me, and that gas peddle would go down when he passed his friends on the street with a big wave. He will be missed in so many ways and a lot of good laughts and hugs will be missed. I know after the snow at Christmas I heard a sound on my back poach and there was Church unloading firewood and left before I could say thank you. He was always doing something for some one. He loved life, he loved his family and he had a special apple of his eye, his son , and so willing to tell you what he was doing. With a smile and I just dont know about that boy but I love him to death with that big grim. He was a spcial angle to Hogansville and we all loved that Chuck. the family will be in my prayers and it is going to be hard but remember he left a good mark on this world. Patrica take one day at a time and I am here if you need me, the same goes for the rest of the family. love and prayers. Ann Long

I was so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing this week. Although we graduated together, it's been many years (20) since we had reconnected. My sincere prayer is for his Family and close friends. May he rest in peace and know he brought lots of fun and laughter to us all in the Class of '78. Chuck, I'll see you again one day!

Lisa Burnham Lowell

I am lost for words. I just read this. Since both my parents passed I do not hear much news from the south side. I hate that I missed his funeral. Chuck has ALWAYS had a place in my heart since 1976. He was a rock for me many times. I had not talked with him in a few years and found this while looking for him. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by so many. May God help you find peace in your hearts. (Frank please call me 770-364-2707) I know he is in heaven with smiles and jokes helping someone out.
